Mid-morning Check Out...

My mom is now home! Everything continued to look good through the night and this morning. Her temps remained normal and the cultures came back negative – confirming that there was no infection. Her fever and chills was just a reaction to her transfusion.

So the doctor came by to do a final check up on her and gave her the okay to go home.

Discharge papers were drawn up, her port was de-accessed and she was checked out of the "St. Mary Hotel" by 11:00 this morning!!

We're so glad that there was NO infection. Praise God!

THANK you all for your prayers!!

For those of you who've been keeping up with this blog you'll notice that St. Mary and HUP look very different. HUP's view is of brick, ivy-clad university buildings and the Philadelphia skyline. The view at Saint Mary includes the grass and trees of the park next door and the middle school across the street. At HUP her TV was a big box television. At Saint Mary it's a flat-screen. Another difference to note... HUP (the oldest teaching hospital in the country) was built in 1874; Saint Mary...1973. Something that is shared at both HUP and Saint Mary is great care. I'm thankful that we can go to a hospital that is just minutes away from our house for emergencies.

Tita Lor,
We are always keeping you and your journey toward recovery in our daily prayers. Aileen - great job on keeping us up to date with your mom's journey - with all that you and your dad are putting into caring for your mom - know that you are in our prayers as well.
Hugs and kisses from Georgia,
