Recovery Road

Over the last few weeks Mommy has been returning to her normal activities.

She's been able to attend church regularly. She's done some fall gardening. She's been cooking. She's been walking regularly with my dad. She's been driving. And, she's been enjoying late-night World Series games with my dad.

While she's not doing all these things back at the same pace and levels she used to, it's definitely been exciting to see her regain her energy and strength and get back to doing things that she enjoys and loves.

This past weekend we enjoyed a wonderful visit with family and lifelong friends. It was good to be with people who mean much to us. Spending time with family and friends... what a blessing!

Part of Mommy's new regular routine is that she gets her blood tested once a week (each Monday). While her blood counts are still within the normal range, some of her numbers have been decreasing last week and this week. Her doctor said some of that is to be expected. They will see if her counts continue to decrease next week and may choose to do another bone marrow test to check how things are looking. Please continue to pray for my mom's continued recovery and complete healing. ...and for continued faith and trust along the way.

So glad that you had a wonderful time this past weekend! We missed you guys, but were thinking of you all day. Prayers that your mom's blood tests will show that she is on a continuing road of recovery. She looks fantastic! Love to you all!
