Day 19: The Results...

ARE CLEAN!!

Mommy's nurse practitioner, Angela, came by today with GREAT news!

The bone marrow biopsy that they did on Day 14 shows that there is NO SIGN of leukemia in the bone marrow!

PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD!

Now that the chemo has done its job of clearing out the leukemia, it's time for the bone marrow to start building up the good cells again.

They will begin each night to inject her with NEUPOGEN. This is a growth factor that helps the bone marrow to produce the white blood cells. The team will be watching very closely her "counts" (white blood cell counts, absolute neutrophil counts, etc.) to see when everything is up to a good level and she's safe to go home. When her ANC count is to 500 they'll make sure it is consistently increasing and soon after she should be able to leave. So, hopefully in a week or two we'll be home!

The NEUPOGEN injections do have side effects - bone pain and fevers. But... they will help to increase the growth of the good cells!!

THANK YOU ALL for praying with and for us!!!

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before the Him with joyful singing.
Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.

- Psalm 100

Little side note:
Sorry, I've been behind in the posts. I haven't updated since last Wednesday. Not too much has happened over the past few days.

On Saturday, we took Mommy outside. This was the first time for her to see the hospital outside of Rhoads 7. We got to tour her around and show her our walk to her room. That was the first time Mommy was outside since March 28th!

Mommy's sister, Priscilla, arrived from Dallas on Saturday.

Also, this past weekend my mom had some problems with chest pains, high blood pressure and breathing. Likely due to fluids OR acid reflux. They've done a heart test and an EKG to check and make sure the condition of her heart is okay. They'll continue to monitor and make sure everything is okay.

Mommy's hair is falling out significantly now. Her sister, Priscilla, cut it shorter today. She also bought some head coverings for my mom in preparation for the hair loss.

AND in other GREAT news! The Green family (that I had asked you all to include in your prayers) welcomed home their son Zach last night! All the doctors and staff there said that Zach was their miracle patient. How great it is that God is a God of miracles! PRAISE HIM!
