For over a week now my mom has had a "pet pole." It followed her wherever she went. When she slept, it was there. When she ate, it was there. When she went to the potty, it was there. Even when she showered, it was there. The pet pole hung the bags of chemo that were being given to her 24-7.
My mom has a big family. What a blessing it has been to have sisters come from Florida and Texas to help care and support her (and us!) during this time. Last night her sister, Myrna, arrived from Dallas. Here's Mommy and two of her sisters... without her "pet pole."
Funny moment: the other day my mom was sitting in the chair and her sister, Daisy, was resting on her bed. At different times her nurse and her CNA came in to administer meds and take her vitals. They both were about to give them to the "patient" in the bed until my mom said, "I'm over here!"
Mommy felt well today. Mostly she is battling feeling incredibly sleepy. She slept for most of the day today. Most likely due to the chemo and the anti nausea meds she's taken.
