Mommy had her Day 30 bone marrow biopsy today.
After waiting for a VERRRRYYY long time in the waiting room she was finally called back to the room for the procedure. Her sister, Raquel, was with us. This was the thing she wanted to see before she left... the bone marrow test. So, she went back to the room with my mom. She came back calling my dad and I, Mommy wanted us there too. So, we all crammed into the room and the nurse who came was probably thinking... "Do you ALL need to be here?" - hahaha.
I had seen it once before and really didn't need to see it again so I moved from my "great view" seat and moved closer to my dad. Surprisingly, he watched the whole thing. He tends to be more squeamish than I. The nurse who did the test did a GREAT job! She talked my mom through the procedure with just the right amount of information and detail. She talked with her checking in on how she was doing and helped her with breathing tips throughout. It was done so quickly!
After the test it was lunchtime and Mommy's reward was a lunch "out." Her first meal that wasn't hospital food or home-cooked. During my mom's stay at the hospital Potbelly was by far my dad's favorite place to eat. So, she had her first Potbelly sandwich.
After lunch we showed Mommy's sister, Raquel, around the hospital and took a short drive out to art museum so she could at least some Philadelphia landmark.
